General Information about Baska Voda

Baska Voda is a beautiful resort on the Makarska Riviera in Dalmatia, only 50 kilometers from Split and 10 kilometers from the city of Makarska. Just behind it is the majestic Biokovo mountain, providing a fascinating scenery. Once a small fishing village, Baska Voda now has a population of about 2,700 and is one of the most sought-after beach destinations in the region, along with Brela, Podgora, Tucepi and Makarska Town. The special thing about Baska Voda are the many stunning beaches and the pleasant atmosphere that this place offers. One of the most interesting attractions in the center is certainly the promenade with the picturesque marina. Together with the bronze statue of St. Nicholas and the church of the same name, built in 1750, it forms the heart of the town.

On a small hill above Baska Voda there is a monument to the fallen soldiers and victims of the Second World War. Moreover, the Shell Museum, the Museum of Local History and the archaeological collection in the center of the town are absolutely worth seeing. This pebble beach, which is about 250 meters long, is located to the north of the harbor, and impresses with its unbelievably great ambience. Bright pebbles, turquoise sea and the gigantic Biokovo mountain in the background make for a picturesque beach scene right out of a travel magazine. Wonderfully fragrant pine trees provide cool shade on hot summer days, and the cozy beach bar “Southern Comfort” offers delicious drinks.

Tip: Beautiful and really highly recommended is the Hotel Croatia. It is located in the center of the town and is only a few minutes’ walk away from Ikovac beach!

Oseka Beach

There is plenty of space for swimming at the Plaza Oseka, one of the most wonderful beaches in Baska Voda. The long bay is located on the coast east of the town. Here, too, the sea is uniquely beautiful, crystal clear and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. A beach bar and a small children’s playground provide the necessary entertainment. Off the beaten track, in a picturesque natural bay with red rocks, is Baska Voda nudist beach. This is perfect for those who like to swim without any clothes.

Tip: Dogs are allowed at Oseka beach, so it’s perfect if you’re traveling with your four-legged friend.

Podluka Beach

The Podluka Beach is located near the center of Baska Voda, a few steps north of the harbor. This charming beach is gently sloping, making it popular with families with children.
