Slatina Beach
Slatina Beach is the most popular beach in Opatija and, with the promenade, the tourist center of the town. This is a clean, very beautiful concrete beach with a unique backdrop, which has been awarded with the Blue Flag. Its many steps and stairs ensure perfect entry into the crystal-clear sea. A small sandy beach section was also created for small children. Due to its size, there are plenty of sunbathing areas on this large beach and umbrellas and loungers can also be rented. Right behind the Slatina beach restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and small kiosks take care of your physical well-being.
Tip: Many of the best hotels in Opatija are located just behind the beach Slatina. Especially recommended are the stunning Grand Hotel Palace and the exclusive 5-star Hotel Amadria Park Milenij.
Tomasevac Beach
The Tomasevac Beach is just beautiful and a very popular beach especially for families with kids. This beautiful bay, like all of Opatija’s amazing beaches, is located on the picturesque Lungo Mare waterfront. Here you will find an enchanting pebble bay with partly concrete sunbathing areas, which transforms into a gently sloping sandy beach in the clear sea. There is also a small water slide, a pedal boat rental and a children’s playground. Shady spots are rather rare on Tomasevac beach, but loungers and umbrellas can be rented on site in the restaurant.

Skrbici Beach
The Skrbici beach is a newly created small pebble beach, although a small part consists of concrete surfaces too. The bamboo forest, which is like the small playground just behind the Lipovica beach, is also pretty to look at.

Lido Beach

Beach Hotel Royal
The Royal Beach, which is a private section of the Hotel Royal, also captivates with an incredibly beautiful backdrop. The water here is wonderfully clean and clear, making it ideal for swimmers and snorkelers. There are almost no natural shade spots here. Sun beds and umbrellas can be reserved on site in the Beach Club of Hotel Royal.
Crnikovica Beach
Crnikovica beach is located in the charming fishing village of Volosko, at the upper end of Opatija, and is particularly popular with locals. On one side of the beach there are concrete areas, on the other side there is a section covered with pebbles, which allows perfect entry into the sea. Also great here is the sandy bottom in the sea, which slopes quite flatly and is therefore well suited for bathing and playing in the water.

Medveja Beach
A popular beach just 9 kilometers from Opatija is the bay of Medveja. Here you can enjoy a rather quiet pebble beach with beautiful blue sea colors and plenty of space to relax in the sun. There is also a good selection of bars and restaurants here. Parking spaces are rather rare, regardless of the season. You can, for example, park for a fee in the campsite opposite.
Brsec (Klancac Beach)
A real insider tip and one of the most beautiful beaches in the area of Opatija is the stunning Klancac Beach in Brsec. This hidden bathing place is located around 23 kilometers from the center of Opatija and is particularly popular with individual travelers. At Klancac Beach you can expect a backdrop that resembles travel magazine pictures. A fine pebble beach with breathtakingly beautiful turquoise sea colors embedded in a fabulous rocky coast make this place unique.
Moscenicka Draga (Sipar Beach)
The beach Sipar in the very popular holiday resort Moscenicka Draga, which is only 14 kilometers away from Opatija, is absolutely beautiful. This dream beach enchants with a unique backdrop, crystal clear turquoise blue sea and a lot of nostalgic flair. Along the picturesque waterfront, you can find many good cafés and restaurants, which offer a wonderful sea view while dinning out!
