Beach Dubovica

The Dubovica beach is a dreamlike bay, as beautiful and unique as if it were straight out of a travel magazine. This dream beach can only be reached from the main road to Hvar by a rather steep footpath, and so closed shoes are for the descent advisable here. But indeed, the short hike is worth the effort, this nature jewel is definitely one of the best beaches on the island and probably one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. Here, the sea is crystal clear, and the picturesque stone house and the cozy beach bar provide a unique atmosphere.

Beach Pokonji dol

The popular Pokonji Dol beach is located near Hvar Town, around 25 minutes away on foot, and is one of the best beaches on the holiday island. Enchanting sea colors, clear water and the breathtaking view of the offshore church island makes this beach so special. There are parasols and sun loungers for hire, and 2 restaurants provide food and drink. Although the beach is very busy in the summer, still is this place spectacular and a perfect spot to visit if you go on holiday to Hvar Town.

Tip: If you want to stay at the Pokonji Dol, we can recommend the Apartments by the sea Hvar, a wonderful accommodation right on the beach and only 15 minutes walk to Hvar Old Town.

Beach Skala (Sveta Nedjelja)

The Skala Beach at Sveta Nedjelja is one of the most well-known beaches of Hvar. The striking rock in the middle of the bay and the incredibly beautiful sea colors make it one of Hvar Island ultimate best beaches. The water is crystal clear and invites for swimming and snorkeling. Due to the gently sloping beach and the beautiful fine gravel, the Skala beach is very popular for families with small children. A magnificent bay and one of the best beaches, that you should not miss on a holiday on Hvar.

Tip: Sveta Nedjelja is a wonderful area to spend your holidays on Hvar. For staying just near this dream beach, we can highly recommend the new apartment Apartments Toro.

Beach Prapatna

The beautiful Beach Prapatna is located in the north of the island, not far from the lovely harbor town Jelsa, and it is one of the absolute top recommendations for a perfect relaxing holiday on Hvar. Here you will swim in the crystal-clear sea and enjoy a stunning, quiet beach atmosphere. Far from the hustle and bustle of the well-known tourist spots, the Beach Prapatna is the ultimate place for coming down. With the small church and the beautiful stone houses, this picturesque secret bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on Hvar Island.

Tip: An insider tip on the island is the exceptionally recommendable Apartment House Elena. Here you have an outstanding view of this dream bay.

Jagodna Beach

The Jagodna beach, located in the south of Hvar, is a beautiful and enchanting pearl on the island. This bay is quite small and is a really charming place for swimming and enjoying a wonderful beach time. Furthermore, the side bay, which can only be reached by walking through the water, is a very popular place for nudists and FKK. There is a campsite above Jagodna Beach, so it can get a bit crowded, especially in the high season. However, it is still one of the best places on the island of Hvar for swimming and snorkeling!

Beach Malo Zarace

The Malo Zarace beach is probably one of the island’s most famous picture-perfect beaches and therefore one of the ultimate instagram spots. Here you will find a breathtaking rock, a stunning beach and the incredibly beautiful, almost kitschy turquoise blue sea colors. This unique beach is not a secret anymore, but it is still an absolute recommendation for the ultimate best beaches of Hvar. In the off-season, you often have this gem for you alone.

Beach Zucica

A real dream beach is definitely the secluded Zucica beach, a small bay near the resort of Zavala, which can only be reached via a gravel road. This paradise is still one of Hvar’s small secret beaches and a real insider tip for those who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle. The sea on this stretch of coast is crystal clear and even invites you to go snorkeling. Pine trees provide cool shade. A truly beautiful beach, perfect for a few quiet hours on Hvar.

Tip: In the dreamy village of Zucica there are a few accommodations. One recommendation is the large apartment at the Corinna Zavala Resort.

Beach Ivan Dolac

One of the most beautiful beaches on Hvar Island, and on top of that a real insider tip for a beach vacation, is the beach Ivan Dolac in the seaside resort of the same name Ivan Dolac. This enchanting bay is located on the south coast and fascinates with a scenery as unique as from a travel magazine. Guests love the fine light pebble beach, which delights with dreamlike turquoise sea colors and crystal clear water. Also great are the pretty restaurants and beach bars that invite you to linger.

Tip: Recommended for a beach holiday in Ivan Dolac are the wonderful Apartments Bala, which have a magnificent view and beautiful rooms.

Maslenica Beach

The Maslenica Beach is a beautiful-hidden bay on the northern coast of Hvar Island near Vrboska and, for many, one of the best beaches in the northern part of Hvar. This picturesque pebble beach is surrounded by dense pine forests, which offer enough shade on hot summer days. Especially beautiful are the many turquoise blue sea colors, which make this hidden and very quiet dream beach unique. As there are no beach bars or restaurants, you should take your own food.

Tip: Vrboska is a wonderful place to explore the entire island. We recommend the charming B&B 366 situated directly in the center of the harbor village.

Beach Mekicevica

The hidden beach Mekicevica is one of the secret gems of Hvar and can only be reached by a 20-minute walk from Pokonji dol beach. This picturesque bay convinces with the most beautiful marine colors and with a unique backdrop. In comparison to the neighbor beach Pokonji Dol, here everything is still very contemplative and secluded. As a little highlight, you can visit the restaurant “Robinson” where a wonderful ambience is waiting for you. The beach Mekicevica is an absolute insider tip among the best beaches of Hvar.

Gromin Dolac Beach

The Beach Gromin Dolac belongs to one of the secret beaches of Hvar. This wild and romantic bay can only be reached on a gravel road, and therefore, this nature jewel is probably still quite lonely. Lined by giant cacti, this special place is a real eye-catcher and, for many, one of Hvar’s ultimate best beaches. Also we were amazed by all this beauty and therefore, for us, the beach Gromin Dolac our top pic when it comes to the most beautiful beach on the island Hvar.

Tip: If you love solitude and relaxation, then we can recommend the Cast-Away Eco Village. Here you spend the night in tents just next to the beach surrounded only by nature.

Beach Palmizana (Pakleni Islands)

If you still can’t get enough of beautiful beaches, you still have the possibility to do a boat trip to the Pakleni Islands, the Hell’s Islands’. This archipelago consists of about 20 islets, and a real beach jewel is the sandy beach Palmizana. It is one of the few sandy beaches near Hvar island. Taxi boats will bring you for 15 Euros from Hvar town to the Klement island, the place where the beautiful bay is located. Another option would be to borrow a small boat in Hvar Town and explore the island world on your own.
