The municipality has about 4,000 inhabitants and is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Zadar region. Here, you can find everything that makes a vacationer’s heart beat faster. Fantastic restaurants, cozy cafés, a picturesque promenade, a small dreamy old town and one of the largest marinas in Croatia. The history of Bibinje dates back to Roman times, when a former warlord built the Villa Rustika. However, the first written record dates back to 1214, when Bibinje had still been called Bibanum. In 1570, the settlement was destroyed by the Ottomans and was only rebuilt in the 17th century. Formerly a small, sleepy fishing village, Bibinje has become a really attractive town for a vacation nowadays.
