General Information about Fazana
Fazana is located in the south-west of Istria, about 10 kilometers from Pula and 30 kilometers from Rovinj. The town has almost 3,700 inhabitants, and today it is one of the most popular vacation destinations along the Istrian coast. Here you can find everything a vacationer’s heart desires! There are fantastic restaurants, cozy cafés, a small pretty old town and beautiful beaches. The proximity to Pula and the Brijuni Islands also makes Fazana a unique vacation destination.
The history of Fazana goes back to the Middle Ages, when in official documents the town had already been mentioned as a small fishing village. Later, in the time of Napoleon, it was a member of the “Fishing Brotherhood of St. Andrew” and at the beginning of the 20th century the biggest anchovy factory in Istria could be found here. Until tourism increased, fishing was the most important economic activity of the inhabitants and also today some people are engaged in fishing.

The Center of Fazana
One of the most important attractions of Fazana is the small, beautiful town center, which is also the tourist center of the resort. Really charming are especially the small old town with its colorful houses and alleys and the beautiful harbor with a charming promenade along the shore. Countless good restaurants, konobas, bars and cafés spoil the vacationers with regional delicacies creating a unique vacation feeling.
In the center is the church of Sv. Kosma, a parish church from the 16th century in Gothic style, which significantly shapes the townscape of Fazana. Located only 1 meter above sea level, this church is situated on the lowest point in all of Istria! Interesting is also the interior, where you can admire a painting of the famous painter Ventura.
The Port of Fazana
Another highlight is the breathtakingly charming port of Fazana. It is the absolute heart of the village and thanks to its beauty you will find it on every postcard. This port looks back on a long history, as the Romans already used to fish and trade here. The fishermen’s boats still moor there today, and you can watch them at work while walking along the pier.
Brijuni National Park
The Brijuni National Park is an archipelago of 14 islands located just a few kilometers from Fazana. As a popular destination, many tourists from nearby resorts come to visit these natural jewels. Here in Fazana excursion boats leave daily and a ferry also takes visitors to the nearby national park, which is only 3 kilometers away. The largest of the islands, Veli Brijun, has, among other attractions, a safari park with llamas and zebras, a bird sanctuary in the south of the island, interesting excavation sites and a 24 km long network of cycle paths.

The north beach of Fazana, also known as Stara Fazana Beach, is a pebble bay about 300 meters long, just a few steps away from the old town as well as the harbor. Superb beach bars, such as the Beach Bar Chupacabra, provide an exuberant vacation flair and the turquoise blue sea colors invite you to swim.
Tip: Just behind the beach is the lovely Villa Fasana, which delights its guests with modern apartments and a beautiful pool not far from the sea.
Fazana Beach (South Beach)
Really popular is the southern beach of Fazana, the so-called Fazana Beach. This beautiful bathing bay is located south of the harbor, and can be reached from the center via a picturesque olive avenue. While swimming you can enjoy a long pebble beach with great water colors and cool beach bars, which conjure up exuberant summer atmosphere.
Tip: Highly recommended is the beautiful Apartment Rose. Guests love the proximity to the sea and also the center with restaurants is not far away.
Valbandon Beach
Valbandon Beach is a long pebble beach in the south of Fazana. Especially beautiful is the snow-white sandbank, where you can find enough space for sunbathing and relaxing and where turquoise water colors invite for swimming. Families with children also appreciate this great beach, where a playground and even a fitness course is also provided.
Tip: Not far from the beach are the apartments Josip, which score with cleanliness and the fantastic location close to the bathing bay!
Bi Village Beach
The picturesque Bi Village Beach is located at the campsite of the same name, Bi-Village, but is also accessible to non-campers free of charge along the promenade. Beautiful is the snow-white pebble, which together with the blue sea conjures up a magnificent backdrop. Thanks to the fabulous facilities and the best water quality, this bay was even awarded the Blue Flag.
Tip: Bi Village campsite offers very nice and great equipped Mobile Homes in the best location!
