Funtana, a small town with about 1,000 inhabitants, is located on the west coast of Istria, about 3 kilometers from Vrsar, 7 kilometers from Porec and about 35 kilometers from the world-famous coastal town Rovinj. The holiday resort has its name from the natural spring, which, already in 1331 was mentioned as Funtana, and today it is even advertised with the slogan “Funtana – at the source of friendship”. What is uniquely beautiful in Funtana is above all the relaxed atmosphere that one enjoys at the small harbor, in the old town center and along the coast. Small, authentic konobas, which offer regional delicacies and the great beach bars, guarantee relaxation.
The climate in Funtana is mild Mediterranean all year round. The rather long summers are pleasantly warm and in the mild winter months the temperatures rarely drop below zero. The region around Funtana is surrounded by a lot of greenery due to the pine forests along the coast and the vineyards and olive groves in the hinterland. Thanks to the countless cycling and hiking trails, active tourists also get their money’s worth here. The sea is also really inviting and shines in the most stunning turquoise-blue water colors.
