General Information about Klenovica

Klenovica is a tiny village with 350 inhabitants in the Kvarner Bay, about 50 kilometers away from the metropolis of Rijeka. The fishing village belongs to the Lika-Senj County and is very popular as a vacation resort thanks to its beautiful beaches. Idyllic is also the small center at the harbor, where you can find cozy cafés and good restaurants with a view of the sea. Several campsites are located around the village, and the offer of vacation apartments near the beach is also fabulous. The small village has remained quiet and tranquil to this day, a reason why vacationers come back again and again.

The freshwater springs in the sea, the so-called Vrulje, are characteristic for Klenovica. They are the reason, why the water is a little cooler and the fish supply a little richer than elsewhere. A fishermen’s monument in the local harbor and numerous scout ladders for tuna fishing, which have been put back on the coast as a reminder, show the attachment to fishing. Many of the local restaurants also serve delicious fish specialties and freshly caught seafood.

Another attraction of Klenovica is the small peninsula of St. Anton, which amazes with a romantic coastline and a magnificent view of the sea. Sometimes, with a bit of luck, you will be able to see dolphins there.

The cozy beach restaurant Skoljic is also great, where you can enjoy delicious calamari fritti in a cozy atmosphere.

Especially those seeking peace and quiet are attracted to this part of the beach, where you can also explore an interesting underwater world while snorkeling!

Not only Klenovica is beautiful, but also the surrounding area is really worth seeing and invites you to exciting excursions. Here are the most beautiful attractions and excursion destinations that should not be missed on any vacation.

Only 10 kilometers away is Novi Vinodolski, with a pretty old town and a beautiful coast. Only 19 kilometers away is the famous resort of Crkvenica, with a very charming center.

The hinterland is also worth seeing. Impressive are there the viewpoints “Eyes of Vinodol“, which are located along the mountain road, the stone labyrinths as well as the freewheeling horses.

Worthwhile is also a trip to Senj, only 15 kilometers away. The old town and the imposing 16th century fortress of Nehaj are particularly beautiful.
