General Information about Pirovac
Pirovac is a charming little coastal town in northern Dalmatia with a population of about 1,900. It is located about 50 kilometers from Zadar and 25 kilometers from Sibenik. The centerpiece and at the same time the most important attraction is the historic old town, whose origins go back to the Middle Ages and where you can still discover evidence of that time today. The village was first mentioned in 1298 as “Zlosela” and it was only at the beginning of the 20th century that the coastal town was given the name Pirovac. Already in Roman times, the area of Pirovac was known, especially for its healing mud. Today, the fishing village is a popular destination for holidaymakers and nautical enthusiasts.
Another special feature is the protected location in the 12-kilometer long so-called Pirovac Bay. Especially people who love swimming are pleased because the sea here is up to 4 degrees warmer than the average of the Adriatic Sea, and also the climate is mild and pleasant all year round. In addition, there are fabulous opportunities for activities and to go on excursions around Pirovac. The Kornati Islands, the Krka Waterfalls, Lake Vrana, the old town of Zadar, Primosten and of course Sibenik are just a few of the highlights of this region!

The Old Town of Pirovac
The charming old town forms the tourist center and is also the most important attraction in Pirovac. This idyllic town center is situated in a dreamlike location directly overlooking the harbor, and the old Dalmatian townhouses with their cozy cafés create an exceptionally quaint flair. A stroll through the town reveals a number of historic buildings that date back to the Middle Ages. Among the most important sights of Pirovac are the parish church of St. Juraj from the 15th century and the remains of the town wall from the 16th century. The old town gate “Vrata sela”, a popular photo motif and one of the town’s landmarks, is also worth a visit!
The promenade of Pirovac, which leads from the old town along the coast and connects the beautiful beaches of the holiday resort, is also charming. In the town center and along the promenade there are plenty of small restaurants, authentic konabas and cafés that invite you to linger in a romantic atmosphere.
The Harbor
The charming Marina Pirovac is situated beautifully with a direct view of the small old town. Thanks to its ideal location, this harbor is a popular starting point for boat trips and sailing tours to the offshore island world. Among other things, trips to the Kornati Islands, the Telascica Nature Park and the Krka National Park start here. There are also a few cozy cafés along the promenade, where you can enjoy a glass of local wine or coffee with that unique atmosphere.
The Beaches in Pirovac
The beaches in Pirovac make this place a popular bathing destination in Dalmatia. To the left and right of the old town are many pretty bathing spots that invite you to sunbathe, splash around and snorkel. Most of the bays are fine pebble or stone beaches, where the dreamlike sea colors, the cleanliness and the idyllic ambience score points. There is also a small nudist beach. Lolic Beach
One of the most beautiful beaches in Pirovac is definitely Lolic Beach. This beautiful long bay is the main beach of the resort and attracts visitors with its picturesque scenery. The many shady pine trees surround the bay and create a Mediterranean ambience, which is actually really impressive. While bathing, you can enjoy a shallowly sloping pebble beach, which is also ideal for families with children. The sea is pleasantly warm, so the little ones can splash around in the sea as much as they like. In summer, a water bouncy castle, a pedal boat rental and kayaking provide activities for young and old alike!
Behind Plaza Lolic there is a cocktail bar and a beach bar, where you can toast to a successful holiday with a cool drink. Also you will find some good accommodations not far away, wherefrom you can be on the beach in no time.
Tip: Around 100 meters away is the fabulous, newly furnished Apartman Soto. Guests love the peace and quiet and the central location close to the beach and the old town!
Prisa Beach
Prisa Beach is just beautiful and definitely a highlight along the coast. This quite new beach section is located right next to the harbor and attracts visitors with its wonderful holiday flair. During your swim you will enjoy a fine, light pebble beach, which forms a dreamlike panorama with the blue sea colors. The beach bar Prisa, is also really charming. Here, guests can enjoy delicious coffee at fair prices as well as a wonderful view of the sea. Prisa beach is not only beautiful during the day; this bathing bay is also really romantic during sunset! Behind the bay is a small holiday settlement with privately run apartments.
Tip: The modern apartments of Villa Gambera are highly recommended. From this spot, you can reach the various beaches of the resort in no time.
Starine Beach
An extremely popular beach is Plaza Starine. This bay is close to the town center and the popular main beach Lolic is right next to it. Especially on the upper section, the atmosphere is a little quieter and the view of the picturesque bay is also breathtakingly beautiful. The many pine trees provide a wonderful fragrance and cool shade on hot summer days. The sea slopes shallowly on this beach and for people who experience difficulties walking, a concrete ramp has been built into the sea. The café-bar directly on beach Starine is also cozy and offers the necessary refreshments during a wonderful day of swimming.

Miran Beach
Miran Beach is a beautiful, small pebble bay in the north of the resort. Here you will mainly meet guests of the Miran Hotel and holidaymakers from the campsite “Miran“. What is fabulous is that this bay also slopes gently into the sea and thus is ideal for families with children. If it gets too hot on summer days, you can find a cool spot below the tall trees, which give the beach that certain something.

The most beautiful destinations in the vicinity are Sibenik and the coastal metropolis of Zadar. Both of them inspire with a UNESCO world heritage old town.
Absolutely recommended is a boat trip to the offshore Kornati Islands and Telascica Nature Park. Also Murter Island can be reached by car from Pirovac in no time!
Cycling and walking trails, as well as viewpoints, bird watching spots and opportunities for kayak tours can be found in the nature park Vransko Jezero, 5 kilometers away.
