General information about Punta Rata Beach
The Punta Rata Beach is located on the picturesque Makarska Riviera, in the popular holiday resort of Brela. At the western end of the beach is the spectacular Brela Rock, a huge stone in the sea covered with green pine trees. Surrounded by the crystal clear turquoise blue sea, this attraction is a real eye-catcher. Over the years, Punta Rata has become the symbol of the Makarska Riviera and is now one of the most famous places to visit in the region. This beach jewel and its dense pine forest have been protected since 1964, which allowed the beach to maintain its natural environment.
Holiday at Punta Rata Beach
Punta Rata Beach is a white pebble beach, which is located on a natural promontory and whose top water quality has been awarded with the “Blue Flag”. In the middle, there are dense pine forests, which provide wonderful shade, especially in midsummer. The sea is crystal clear and mostly pleasantly calm, which families with children also appreciate. Behind the beach are some recommended accommodations, located just a few steps away from the sea.
Also those who love snorkeling are just right here at Punta Rata. Around the Brela Stone, along the rocky coast, you will discover a fantastic underwater world while snorkeling. Other popular activities are tours with the SUP (stand-up paddling) or kayaking. Pedal boating, jet skiing and parasailing are also offered on site. From the sea, you will get the opportunity to marvel at the beautiful coast of Brela from an entirely different perspective.
The waterfront promenade, which leads past many beautiful bays and, among others, Punta Rata beach, is also beautiful. The promenade is ideal for long walks, for jogging, but also for cycling. There are also many small beach bars along the promenade, which provide cool drinks and small snacks. To the east you can get from Punta Rata to the center of Brela, where there is a small harbor, good restaurants and supermarkets.
