Zaton Beach: Best Beaches & Travel Tips!
The beautiful beaches in Zaton are one reason why the village is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the Zadar region in Dalmatia. Especially families with children love the long fine sandy beach of the huge Zaton Holiday Resort, a really popular resort located in the heart of Zaton. However, along the coast there are many other picturesque and partly quieter bays to swim in and relax. But what are actually the best beaches in Zaton, which ones are just fantastic for a vacation by the sea, and where can you find the most beautiful bays to enjoy some quiet summer days?

Beach Zaton Holiday Resort
The Plaza Zaton is located inside the Zaton Holiday Resort and is both the largest and the most famous beach in Zaton! This 1.5-kilometer-long sandy beach with partly concreted sunbathing areas amazes above all with cleanliness and the most incredible watercolors. On top of that, the beach slopes really shallowly into the sea, which guarantees safe bathing pleasure, especially for small children. And, thanks to its good facilities and top water quality, Zaton beach has been awarded the Blue Flag.
In addition to that, resort guests also enjoy a spacious pool area, a cool slide park and other leisure facilities, such as mini golf, beach volleyball, climbing nets and a tennis court. Food and drinks are provided here by several restaurants, beach bars and snack bars, all of which are located just behind the beach.

Beach Jaz – Vrulja
One of the most popular beaches of Zaton is the beach Jaz – Vrulja. It borders directly on the Zaton Holiday Resort and enchants with a lovely panorama. This beach is a pebble beach with a shallow slope and further in the sea it turns into sandy ground. Really idyllic is also the long seaside promenade, which invites going on long walks along the coast.
A little farther away, there is a good offer of beach bars and small stores to get groceries. You will also find a small children’s playground on Plaza Jaz. In addition, along the beach, there are a few trees that provide cool shade on hot summer days. In the high season, sun umbrellas and sunbeds can be rented on this beach section.
Tip: There are also some fantastic accommodations just nearby the beach. Recommended is the very well-maintained Holiday House Zaton, which is not far away from the beach Jaz.
Beach Bilotinjak
A real highlight is beach Bilotinjak in the north of Zaton. This natural cove is only 500 meters away from Zaton Holiday Resort and can be easily reached by a short walk. Once you arrive, a beautiful sandy beach awaits you, with breathtaking sea colors and an exceptionally beautiful backdrop. Unique are especially the red rock formations, which give this fine beach the very special something and even make it to one of the most beautiful beaches in Zadar region.

Beach Plaza Plise
Another beautiful beach in Zaton, a bit away from the hustle and bustle, is Plaza Plise. It is located a bit south of the center and is particularly attractive because of its quiet flair. The bay is a fine sandy beach that slopes so gently that you can wade far into the sea. Ancient pine trees offer wonderful cool shade and umbrellas and deck chairs can also be rented on the beach. Really ingenious is the cozy beach bar which amazes with fantastic sea views and delicious coffee.
If you love snorkeling, you can discover interesting fish species, crabs and various shells just a little behind the long pier. Also captivating is the small reed belt nearby, whose natural channels can be explored by paddle boat or kayak.

Beach Punta
Plaza Punta is another lovely and calm beach in the south of Zaton. Along this stretch of coast there are many small bays with pine trees, where everyone will find a quiet place to enjoy the sun for sure.
